Magic Valley Bassmasters January 2016 Meeting
President Zach Taylor brought the meeting to order at 7:00 at Idaho Joes.
Scyler reported on the Federation;- -The banquet will be February 20th in Meridian. It is $35.00 per plate which includes 1 major raffle entry and some general raffle tickets. The meal will be tri tip or chicken. For more information contact Scyler 539-1346
The qualifiers dates are April 23rd at C.J. Strike, May 21st at Owyhee (date may change due to divisional), August 27th and 28th at Brownlee (wood head park).
Our banquet had a good turnout and great food. Thank you to the members that donated items for the raffle. It was great to see everyone that came and enjoyed the evening with the club.
All our 2016 fishing tournaments are approved. And they are:- March 19th and 20th at Brownlee (wood head park) combined with Mini Cassia
- April 30th at Anderson Ranch (curlew)
- May 14th at Miler (Memorial Open) Riverside
- June 18th and 19th at Owyhee, combined with Mini Cassia
- July 16th at C.J. Strike (black sands)
- August 13th at Massacre Rocks and 14th at Lake Walcott..2 day combined weight
- August 20th Co-Ed Open at Milner--non point event
- September 3rd Wounded Warriors at C.J. Strike--non point event
- October 1st at Milner (bedke ramp)
- November 5th Snow Bowl at C.J. Strike
Please don't forget to get your dues paid and insurance papers in by the first tournament. We will be mailing out sponsorship invoices for the trailer. We have 3 open spots this year that we need to replace.
This meeting we went over the rules, we will be voting on them next month.- 5 5:2 reads: Three places and first and second big fish will be paid out (only 1 big fish paid per boat). A fourth place will be paid after 12 boat entries. Five tournaments are required to be eligible for a year end award, such as first, second, third and fourth place teams and big fish.

No money will be paid out at the end of the year, it will be paid out at each tournament to increase tournament pay outs. - 5.4 reads: Minimum fish length is 12 inches as measured on a will-e-go-flat board.
***Proposed change...Minimum fish length is 12 inches as measured on a legal flat board. - 5.6 reads: In the event of a break down, a participant can hail a passing boat by turning over the numbered banner (given to them at the draw) to the red side.
***Proposed change...Adding the words...If the rescuer occurs close to the check in time the tournament directors may wave the late penalty by no more then 15 minutes lead way. - 5.9 reads: Contestants must inform an officer or leave a note and banner at the trailer before leaving a tournament early.

This is a safety issue to insure that we are not stranding a contestant at the end of the tournament, if this is not done the tournament committee will assume that a boat is still out and will need to be rescued. - 5.23 reads: Casting distance rule is a no bump rule, please show some consideration and sportsmanship.
